Officers Beauty And The Beast Go On Halloween Patrol In Visalia

VISALIA (KMJ) — Visalia Police has used the power of fairy tales to highlight Halloween safety this year. In a post on the department’s YouTube page, a pair of officers go out on patrol dressed as Beauty and the Beast.

In the video, Beast is reminded by Beauty to be safe. That includes looking both ways before crossing the road (despite Beast’s desire to “beat everybody to the candy”), and checking Halloween candy before eating it (much to Beast’s displeasure).

The tips mirror those from California’s Office of Traffic Safety. Drivers have been asked to avoid going through residential areas where trick-or-treaters are likely to be, to be extra cautious of traffic signals and signs, and to keep a watch out for children in costumes. Younger residents are being reminded to plan a route ahead of time, wear visible costumes, and carry a flashlight.
