Valley’s “First Storm Of The Season” Is On Its Way

FRESNO (KMJ) — Rain is coming to the Central Valley, according to the National Weather Service in Hanford. A low pressure system pushing its way in from the Central Coast is described as the cause of the expected precipitation.

As much as half and inch of rain could fall from Tuesday morning through to Wednesday, but the weather service’s David Spector said it has nothing to do with Tropical Storm Rosa.

“That’s not going to impact our area. From looking at the water vapor imagery it looks like it’s completely cut off from the incoming system.”

That band of heavy rain is currently threatening areas of Southern California, Arizona, and Mexico.

Spector does not consider precipitation coming early October to be anything unusual, but admits that it is slightly ahead of schedule.

“It’s just a little earlier than usual, but it’s normal for us to get our first storm of the season in early October.”

After the rain slips away on Thursday, the forecast calls for the sun to return to our skies.
