FRESNO, CA (KMJ) Two Fresno men were arrested early Sunday by FPD on numerous charges, including possession of a loaded AR-15.
Around 1am police were called to a disturbance near Cedar and Huntington where they detained 25 year old Felix Gonzalez and 21 year old Estevan Torres-Flores. Both men were intoxicated.
Officers say the rifle was partially concealed between the front seat of their car and the center console. The AR-15 was loaded with one round of live ammunition in the high-capacity magazine.
A spent shell casing was also recovered from inside the vehicle.
Gonzalez is a documented Sureno gang member.
The firearm was recovered as evidence and detectives are conducting follow up investigation to determine if this firearm is linked to any recent shootings or has been used in any crimes. The manufacturer’s serial number had been scrubbed from the gun, so it’s unclear if it had been stolen.
Both men were booked into the Fresno County Jail for numerous charges related to the illegal possession and transportation of the loaded firearm in the vehicle.
