FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – A Fresno Unified School bus is involved in a crash, right outside KMJ’s studios.
More than two dozen elementary school children were aboard the bus, from Manhester GATE and Bullard Talent, when it and a car collided on Shaw and Harrison.
Andrew Romero (below, middle) is the father of 9 year-old Jacob Romero (below, left), a student from Manchester GATE, who was on bus and texted him.
“I didn’t know how bad it was – he said ‘everyone was ok.’ I waited about 5-10 minutes then I headed over there, because he kept saying the bus wasn’t moving,” said Andrew Romero.
Romero’s son Jacob said; “There was a crash then I heard a screeching noise on the right side of the bus.”
Fresno Unified officials said the children were not injured.
Parents were being notified, some had already arrived to sign out their children.
Another FUSD bus arrived to take the remaining children to their school pick-up sites.
The corner was the same site where a FUSD School bus and other vehicles crashed in March.
