FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – The man accused of being one of the most notorious killers in California history made a court appearance Thursday afternoon to hear charges, but did not enter a plea.

DeAngelo is facing thirteen counts of murder with another thirteen counts of kidnap for robbery, for violent crimes in California.

DeAngelo is suspected of 12 murders, 45 rapes and over 120 burglaries that took place in the 1970’s and 80’s.

DA’s from six counties decided on a joint prosecution of the crimes; Contra Costa County District Attorney Diana Becton, Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas, Sacramento County District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert, Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce Dudley, Tulare County District Attorney Tim Ward, and Ventura County District Attorney Gregory Totten are all participating in the case against him.

72-year-old DeAngelo will be back in court in December 6, 2018.
