10 Armed Robberies at Fresno Businesses, Police Look For Separate Crews of Robbers

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Fresno businesses have been targets – hit with a series of armed robberies.

In the last 18 days, Police say there have been 10 Robberies in Fresno, stores from Basket Robbins to KFC to Team Mobile.

Police think there were two different robbery series by two different pairs of robbers.

One person, 29 year-old James Ashley (above) a felon was arrested on Monday, August 20, after fingerprints tied him to crime.

Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer is looking for more suspects.

“These individuals are wanted in connection for the robbery of the Baskin Robbins, as well as Kentucky Fried Chicken and possibly Little Ceaser’s. 27-year-old Jerome Anthony Harris of Fresno, and the second individual is 16 year-old Ezekiel Antonio Harper. Both of these individuals are considered to be considered armed and dangerous, ” said Chief Dyer.

There were four other unrelated robberies. A 16 year old has been arrested for one at a Team Mobile Store, and four other people were arrested in Livermore.

Investigators are still looking for possible connections in other robberies that took place outside of Fresno committed by both Fresno area suspects and others from out of town.

Chief Dyer says it’s not uncommon for robberies to inspire copy cat robbers.

Asked about the recent Apple Store robberies up and down the state, Dyer said they have not had information, but they are in contact with Ventura Police and it’s not uncommon to be a crew of individuals..

“As to what’s driving these individuals to commit robberies – certainly drug addiction is one,” said Dyer, “but I also believe that the second is excitement – they do it for the quick cash, they’re betting that they are going to get with the crime.”

If you have any information about the series of robberies, call Fresno Police at 559-621-2079 or Crimestoppers at 498-STOP.
