FRESNO (KMJ) — As wildfires continue to burn all across California, Congressman Devin Nunes has to help fix the problem.
The House Intelligence Committee’s chairman said state politicians from all sides should work together.
“To put initiatives on the ballot to start to clean this government up.”
Nunes added that a lack of maintenance has made the problem worse.
“What’s happening is we’re burning up so now they’re stopping the use of the forest,” detailed Nunes.
“It’s not just that they stopped the logging, what we should be doing is going into these forests and the logs that fall down and start to decay, you go in and clean those up…to create fire breaks.”
Nunes also called for cattle and sheep to be allowed to graze in forests as well.
It comes as Cal Fire warned earlier this week that the massive wildfires will soon become the new normal (click here to read more).
