FRESNO (KMJ) — Investigators have released new images of a man alleged to have kidnapped, robbed, and assaulted a woman in Fresno.
The incident took place on Friday June 22nd, but Fresno PD is yet to put a name to the suspect.
“In order to get him identified we’re asking for the public’s help,” explained Sergeant Dan Macias.
“The investigation is still ongoing, detectives have been on it since June 22nd. We’ve requested assistance from the FBI to help enhance the video to try to get a better picture of the suspect’s face.
“We’re hoping that the public is able to help us out.”
Police reported that the suspect approached the victim in the area of Champlain and Shepherd. The woman, who was out walking, tried to take the one year old she was babysitting home. Officers said the suspect made his way inside, assaulted her, forced her and the baby into her car, and they then drove to an ATM where he withdrew money from her account.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 40s, 5′ 7″ to 5′ 8″, heavy build, balding, with a clean shaven round face.
“We have received a number of tips from the neighborhood where this occurred and we followed up on those,” added Sergeant Macias.
Anyone who sees the suspect is asked to contact Fresno Police on (559) 205-9229.
