FRESNO (KMJ) — Ivanka Trump’s visit to the Central Valley, as part of an effort to bolster support for Republican political candidates in California, prompted protesters outside Fresno’s Harris Construction.
Even before the President’s daughter arrived Monday morning, demonstrators had set up their signs and bullhorns in a bid to pass on their message to the federal government.
“I think that Ivanka is complicit standing beside her father and nodding and smiling and posting pictures of her perfect family on Twitter, when kids are in cages,” explained Stephanie Dominguez-Walton, who had traveled to Fresno from Oakland to protest.
“Some of them are not even old enough to be able to speak and tell someone what their name is, who their parent is, where they’re from, and so I don’t care if I get through to her.”
Others spoke out against U.S. foreign policy and the strength of unions across the country.

Tickets to the “Protect the House” luncheon, which also featured Bakersfield Congressman Kevin McCarthy, reportedly cost more than $1,000 each. Monday’s agenda also included a visit to Los Angeles.
