FRESNO (KMJ) — The 18 year old alleged to have threatened a shooting at Central High School’s prom has appeared in Fresno County Superior Court.

Facing a felony charge of criminal threats, Edward Hannah entered a not guilty plea Wednesday morning. It is alleged that he posted on social media that anyone attending the Saturday night event should wear body armor.

“There was information that someone should wear a vest if they were going to attend that prom,” explained Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer.

“That’s what prompted the initial investigation by our department.”

Following his arrest (click here to read more), it was also confirmed that the 18 year old was a former student of the school he had threatened.

Judge Don Penner refused a request to release Hannah, and set the bail amount at $20,000. He was ordered to be present at the pre-preliminary on May 22nd, and the preliminary hearing on May 29th. If found guilty, Hannah could face up three years behind bars.
