FRESNO (KMJ) — Valley Congressman Devin Nunes will be unable to participate in a town hall event planned for April 7th, organized by March For Our Lives Fresno.
That statement from his Director of Communications Jack Langer, who wrote in an email to KMJ News that he will be “traveling abroad on Intelligence Committee business, so he cannot attend.”
In a letter posted on Twitter, student organizer Sophia Bautista detailed that many of those involved “are growing increasingly frustrated with your absence.” She adds that “we would be honored to hear from you directly on how you plan to address the issue of gun violence in your district.”
Dear @RepDevinNunes,
The students of March For Our Lives Fresno are hosting a town hall on April 7th to have an open dialogue about gun violence. We set a date when you’re on break in the hopes that you might attend!
Best Wishes,

It comes after a gathering outside Fresno High School on March 24th, which saw numerous young activists express their desire for tighter gun control.
