Muhammad Pleads “Not Guilty” – Trial Date Still Not Set

FRESNO (KMJ) — The alleged Downtown Fresno Shooter has entered a not guilty plea, but a date for his trial is still to be established.

Kori Ali Muhammad’s appearance inside Fresno County Superior Court Wednesday saw a general time waiver entered and proceedings delayed until April 25th. Court records show that a petition has been filed to obtain Muhammad’s juvenile records.

It comes after Fresno County District Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday that it will seek the death penalty. The defendant is alleged to have committed four murders over six days in April 2017. He’s also facing the special circumstances that they were killed because of their race.

Muhammad was ruled competent to stand trial in January (click here to read more), allowing criminal proceedings to resume.
