One Dead After Shooting Near Fresno’s Tioga Middle School

FRESNO (KMJ) — A homicide investigation is underway following an early morning shooting in Central Fresno. Police were called to a home close to Millbrook and Santa Ana Avenues at around 4am.

“We responded to 3523 East Santa Ana for a report of multiple shots being fired at the location,” established Fresno Police Sergeant Andre Benson at the scene.

Officers arrived to find a male victim dead inside a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. He has been identified as 35 year old Robert Rodriguez. Investigators were later seen focusing their efforts on a black Cadillac parked outside.

“At this time we’re not releasing…a motive in regards to the shooting,” added Sergeant Benson.

Those on scene said the victim knew those who lived at the house, and the shooting took place outside.

“No arrests at this time. Most definitely we are looking for people. We’re following up on leads but at this time we have no suspect information.”

Members of the Multi-Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium (MAGEC) were also seen in the area.
