Officer-Involved Shooting Under Investigation in Visalia

VISALIA, Calif. (KMJ) — An officer-involved shooting occurred Tuesday afternoon in Visalia.

Police were conducting a traffic stop near Giddings and Howard, when 39-year-old Franklin Oden ran from the car with a handgun.

Visalia Police Chief Jason Salazar says Oden fired at least two rounds, prompting one officer to shoot back.

No officers were harmed.

Oden has died from his injuries.
