Public Opinion Wanted In Fresno Unified Superintendent Search

FRESNO (KMJ) — The search for a new Fresno Unified Superintendent is going to the people.

A series of seven meeting are being held all over the district to give parents, teachers, staff, and others a chance to share their thoughts and opinions on who should be the person to permanently replace Michael Hanson.

The former Fresno Unified Superintendent was fired in January (click here to read more), with Interim Superintendent Bob Nelson filling in until a new person to fill the role can be found.

“We as a board hired a search firm, Leadership Associates, to assist in the search for a permanent superintendent,” reveals Fresno Unified School Board Trustee Carol Mills.

“As part of the search process we want to get a lot of input from the community on the qualities and characteristics they would like to see in a permanent superintendent and perhaps also input on what they view as the strengths of the district and the challenges as superintendent will face.”
