Central Valley Hospitals Judged In National Safety Grade

FRESNO (KMJ) — A nationwide review of hospitals reveals some interesting results about medical care in the Central Valley.

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade gave an “A” rating to Doctors Medical Center of Modesto, Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia, and Memorial Hospital in Los Banos.

The majority received a “B” rating, including Clovis Community Medical Center, Madera Community Hospital, and both the Kaiser Foundation Hospitals in Fresno and Modesto.

Sites receiving a “C” grade included Fresno’s Saint Medical Center and Community Regional Medical Center, and Merced’s Mercy Medical Center.

The only “D” was awarded to Tulare Regional Medical Center.
