Less Than A Month Left To Save Fresno Catholic School

FRESNO (KMJ) — Officials at St. Helen’s Catholic School in Fresno are scrambling to save the 60 year old operation from closing.

They’re trying to raise $1.2 million to keep the operation open, and have less than a month to do so.

“Anybody who walks on this campus, there’s 206 reasons why these doors should stay open – that’s our current enrollment right now,” reveals Principal Jason Garza

He says they’re putting together fund-raisers to try and get the money together before the deadline.

“The community has really pulled together. I’m so proud of the Southeast community of Fresno, and these families. They have just rallied, they are game-planning, they are brainstorming.”

Garza adds that they don’t want to raise tuition costs, and are hoping they get enough money in to make ends meet before the April 15th deadline.
