February: Spay & Neuter Awareness Ahead Of Kitten Season

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – February is Spay and Neuter Awareness Month.

The Cathouse on the Kings animal sanctuary, just one of the animal rescue organizations seeing an uptick in the number of kittens says Spokesperson Beth Caffery.

“It is right before the flood of cats and dogs having multiple litters throughout the year.” – Beth Caffery, Spokesperson, Cathouse on the Kings.

With Fresno ranking around 3rd in the nation for euthanasia, Caffrey says don’t wait to fix your pet.

“Now is really the best time to get animals spayed and neutered, whether they are neighborhood cats, your particular pets or just animals in general that you are working together to try and provide for.”- Beth Caffery.

Hope Animal Foundation, Valley Animal Center and the Fresno Humane Animal Services can all help with services.

You can also call the Cathouse on the Kings for assistance finding the lowest cost spay and neuter in your area.
