Office Spaces Becoming More Millennial Friendly

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Some offices are getting Millennial makeovers.

The country now has 75 million people between ages 19 and 35.

Millennials represent the largest generation, and the switch is happening in the workplace from baby boomers –who separated their work and private lives – to Millennials, who feel working hard and playing hard should happen in tandem.

Research conducted by Haworth involving over 2,000 office workers in and outside the U.S.A. found Millennials have the need for belonging, connection and contributing to a greater good and that’s changing office design.

Companies are building fewer walls, and setting up workstations for easy collaboration.

Milliennials want the right technology in their workspace, even access to daylight and adequate storage.

Workplace design can help employees feel happier in two different ways: making them feel that their employer values them; and by helping them focus on their work.
