FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Daily soda consumption appears to drastically increase your risk of developing pre-diabetes, a “warning sign” condition, that precedes full-blown type 2 diabetes.
Just one can of soda each day, according to a new study published in the Journal of Nutrition, can lead to a 46 percent greater risk.
Researchers say the constant spike in blood glucose over time, leads to cells no longer being able to properly respond.
Once that happens, insulin resistance becomes an issue, which leads to the damage of several organs.
