Study: Pot Use Associated with Memory Loss

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — A new Spanish study finds regular pot use can inhibit communication between neurotransmitters in the brain.

Scientists at the University of the Basque Country in Spain, say cannabis negatively affects the area of the brain associated with memory function.

Even with the side effects, researchers say marijuana has potential therapeutic benefits.

The drug is now legal for recreational use in the Golden State, following the passage of Proposition 64.
