FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – With Fresno State relieving football coach Tim DeRuyter of his duties on Sunday, offensive coordinator Eric Kiesau was introduced Monday as the interim football coach. Kiesau will lead the team through the final four games of the season.
“It is a crazy business,” said Kiesau. “It’s never a fun time when obviously you lose a coach, but I have a ton of respect for Coach DeRuyter. He’s a great coach, he’s a great friend, he’s a great father and he’s a class act all the way around. But in moving forward, I am very excited to and very honored about this opportunity.”
This is Kiesau’s first year with the program. He came to Fresno State from Alabama where he was an offensive analyst. Kiesau has prior experience as the offensive coordinator at Washington and Colorado.
