Fresno Woman Arrested for Financial Elder Abuse

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – A Fresno woman has been arrested for allegedly stealing money from a 91-year-old woman, Eva Pearson (who is now deceased).

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office says 33-year-old Alicia Pfalzgraff was Pearson’s caretaker and had her power of attorney – which she used to allegedly steal thousands of dollars.  Pfalzgraff was also allowed to stay in the woman’s home rent free even after the victim was moved to an assisted living facility.

During the investigation, Pearson’s home caught on fire multiple times.  The cause of the fires are still under investigation.

Pfalzgraff faces multiple felony charges of financial elder abuse and identity theft. Her bail has been set at $215,000.
