FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Fresno Pacific is lending a helping hand to former ITT Technical Institute students.
The Sunbirds are offering to accept transfers from the institute that shut its doors earlier this week – and they’ll waive the application fee and work with students’ financial aid to help them continue their education.
Fresno Pacific’s Vice President of Enrollment Management, Jon Endicott, said the school feels for the students around the valley – many of whom were close to graduating.
“We would be treating ITT students as if they are coming from a regionally accredited school,” said Endicott. “So if they had come to us two months ago, we would have only transferred in 30 units. so we’re taking that cap off.”
The transfer of units is on a case-by-case basis.
Nearly 45,000 students around the country were displaced when ITT Tech closed down this week. According to CollegeView.com, about 400 students attended the school in clovis. Fresno Pacific enrolls nearly 3,500 students.
