Silvestre Barvan

Silvestre-Barvan

Silvestre Barvan of Caruthers.  A judge has issued an arrest warrant for making deadly threats and assault with a deadly weapon.

Around 11:00 pm on July 17, 2016, after a night of partying, Silvestre Barvan was dropped off at the property where he stays near Hughes and Magnolia in Caruthers.  The driver of the vehicle shined the headlights into the bedroom of a nearby home where an elderly man was resting.  A woman went outside and told Barvan to be careful of where the lights are shining.  Barvan began to yell at the woman, which caused her boyfriend to come out and stand up for her.  Barvan argued with the man and told him he would fight him.  Once the man approached him, Barvan pulled a large knife out of his pocket and swung it at the man.  The man was able to run away without being injured and he called the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office to make a report.

A deputy arrived and arrested Barvan.  He was booked into the Fresno County Jail, then released the next day after no charges were filed.  However, in mid-August, an active arrest warrant was issued.

Barvan is 53 years old.  He is 5’6”, 160 lbs. with brown eyes and black hair.
