FRESNO (KMJ) — An overnight crash leaves a 54 year old man dead and Fresno Police looking for the person responsible.
It happened close to the intersection of Blackstone and Clinton. Christopher Varela was crossing the street in a wheelchair and later succumbed to his injuries after the collision which occurred around 9pm Wednesday night.
Officers are now looking for the vehicle involved. It has been described as a newer black lifted truck, with oversize tires and chrome rims. It’s also said to have ‘4×4’ on either the rear window or rear quarter panel.
The truck was described as traveling southbound on Blackstone at Clinton, and continued traveling southbound following the crash.
Investigators are now looking for either the truck or the driver. Anyone who has information which could help investigators is asked to call Crimestoppers on 498-STOP.
