FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Chukchansi Park will host two Mexican Pacific League baseball teams for exhibition games this September. Dubbed the “Mexican Baseball Fiesta”, the event, September 17th-18th, is meant to coincide with the Mexican Independence Day, celebrated on September 16th.
Fresno Grizzlies General Manager Derek Franks says the event will be a party. “It’s not your traditional American baseball experience,” says Franks. “We’re going to have music, live bands, post-game party and dancing. I was told that the concert and the music will play all throughout the game. It doesn’t start and stop like we do with American baseball. The party really goes the entire game.”
The regular season ends for the Fresno Grizzlies on September 5th. Their last regular season home game of the year will be on August 28th.
