(KMJ) – Fresno County Sheriff’s Detectives arrested the owner of Fresno’s Sunnyside Convalescent Hospital on July 21st and charged him with stealing from the elderly.
65-year old Michael Fellen of Madera was taken into custody and charged with stealing money from a total of 57 residents who live at the facility on South Peach Avenue. A whistle blower initially made the allegations of this possible financial abuse and a June 2015 found discrepancies in the residents’ accounts.
Investigators say Feleen admitted to taking the money to cover his “extreme debt.” They say he also admitted falsifying residents’ monthly statements to hide any missing money.
