FRESNO (KMJ) – Fresno Police continue to target leaders of major gangs.

Chief Jerry Dyer and the gang enforcement consortium called MAGEC – has decimated the Malos Hechos Motorcyle Gang, involved in illegal drug and gun sales.

The operation was conducted by officers from the ATF, DEA, HSI, FBI, USMS, the Fresno Police Department, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, the Multi Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium (MAGEC), the California Highway Patrol, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation- Parole, and the Fresno County Probation Department.

Chief Dyers says 45 firearms were confiscated in the raid Tuesday morning, along with 80 pound of methamphetamine.

“Anytime we have drugs involved there’s a potential for violent crime – we know that methamphetamine fuels all the majority of crime in our community, all the way from auto theft to burglary, so getting that 80 pounds of meth off the streets is critical.” – Chief Jerry Dyer.

14 search warrants were served, Chief Dyer says there were even searches inside prison cells.

“There were jail cells that were searched in Fresno County Jail, as well as jail cells in Victorville Federal Prison as well as Corcoran State Prison.” – Chief Jerry Dyer.

17 people have been charged from conspiracy to commit murder to drug possession and trafficking and parole violations.

“It’s a significant impact and there’s going to be additional arrests made in this investigation.” Chief Jerry Dyer.
