Ribbon Cutting For AIMS Center New Facility

The ribbon’s been cut on a new facility housed at Fresno Pacific University — the AIMS Center for Math & Science Education.

The AIMS Center for Math and Science Education is part of the AIMS Education Foundation.

The Center’s purpose is to inspire a new generation to embrace math and science.

AIMS has been around 30 years, working with teachers trying to improve education through writing tasks – integrating math and science.- Lori Hamada – Executive Director, AIMS

Lori Hamada is the Executive Director of the non-profit AIMS Center for Math & Science Education who says staff develop teaching practices designed for the diverse backgrounds of Central Valley children, benefiting hundreds of thousand of students in the process.

During the ribbon cutting – the board dedicated the conference center to Richard Thiessen, who has been the president of AIMS for the last 30 years – it was his vision to change the team’s focus: translating research into practice.
