Fresno Police announced the new DUI Collision Trailer is being dedicated to the family who donated the car inside.
Anthony Monreal was there with his family at the dedication inside Valdez Hall, where the vehicle was being displayed.
On January 25, 2014, his mother and two aunts were killed when the drunk driver crossed the center line and plowed into the compact car – and crumpled it all the way to the seats.
Chief Jerry Dyer and the District Attorney”s office unveiled the trailer, stressing the DUI collisions are not accidents but crimes.
The trailer will be used as an educational tool to bring awareness to the crime of driving under the influence and the tragic consequences the senseless and violent crime can cause.
Chief Dyer says 28 people will die today and everyday from drunk drivers, and prays that will change.
