FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Governor Jerry Brown and First Lady Anne Gust Brown have officially moved into the historic Governor’s Mansion in Downtown Sacramento.
Brown, who lived in an apartment during his first round as governor, announced that he and his wife would be moving into the mansion after a monthslong renovation.
The mansion, built in 1903, hadn’t housed a governor since Ronald Reagan in 1967.
The $4.1 million renovation was paid for by proceeds from the sale of a Carmichael mansion, which was built for Reagan, who left office before he could move in.
