California Drought Bill Appears to be Dead

Legislative efforts to help California with the ongoing drought appear to have come to an end.

According to the Sacramento Bee, California House Republicans have given up efforts to work with the Senate to come up with an agreed upon bill.

GOP House members acknowledged the bill’s failure while putting the blame squarely on California’s two Democratic senators, Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer.

The House has proposed a compromise to ease the California water crisis and a bill that satisfied the Senate’s demands.

But Valley Congressman Devin Nunes told the Sacramento Bee that Senate Democrats are rejecting  efforts by prioritizing fish over families. Rep. Devin Nunes, R-California.
