(KMJ) – Fresno’s Elephant Bar is one of dozens of locations where customer payment card information may have been compromised .

CM Ebar, LLC, owner of Elephant Bar restaurants, was alerted to a potential security incident by its card processor on Nov. 3. Based on a forensic investigation, it appears hackers installed malicious software on payment processing systems at certain locations designed to capture payment card information.

Twenty of the locations are in California, and include Fresno and Bakersfield, as well as restaurants in Colorado, Arizona, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico and Florida.

Elephant Bar believes the malware could have comprised data for customers making payment card purchases in Fresno from Sept. 12 to Nov. 24.

Elephant Bar recommended that customers review credit and debit card account statements as soon as possible to determine any unusual activities.
