Fresno Police Investigating City’s 36th Homicide

(KMJ) – On Saturday October 10th, Fresno Police responded to a call of a shooting at Holly & Grove just before 10 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found two gun show victims.  34-year old Christopher Mitchell of Fresno died at the scene. The second victim, a 39-year old female, was struck in the legs and stomach. She was rushed to CRMC and is listed in stable condition.

Detectives say the two victims were standing near a vehicle parked along the curb when a newer light colored four door vehicle pulled right next to the victims and began firing. The vehicle was last seen south bound Holly Avenue towards Jensen Avenue.

If anyone has information on the murder, they are urged to Crime Stoppers at 498-STOP where a reward is being offered that leads to an arrest.

This is the 36st murder this year in Fresno compared to 39 murders this time last year.
