(KMJ) – Fresno Police officers were called to Cedar and Kings Canyon for a reported cell phone robbery on Thursday, September 17th around 6 p.m.
But this was no ordinary call as the victim was dressed in a large Black Bird costume. He was advertising for a local business when he was approached from behind by a Bulldog Gang member who demanded his cell phone.
The suspect later identified as Lupe Rodriquez Jr, grabbed the victim’s wing which held the phone and began shoving the victim in his attempt to steal the phone.
During the attempted robbery, the victim took flight into a nearby business where Rodriquez followed him and continued to demand the phone. The attempted robbery inside the store was captured on video surveillance which later led to Rodriquez’s arrest.
