(KMJ) A telecommunication company’s application to add additional antennas and remove the massive 60-foot American flag along Shaw Avenue and Highway 168 did not pass the Clovis’ Planning Commission Thursday night.
Prior to the vote, dozens of people voiced their opposition to the plan. Many cited the flag’s meaning to the city’s veterans and residents who lost their lives in defense of this Nation.
The owners of Hedrick’s Chevrolet posted the telecommunication’s plan on Facebook stating it’s against the plan. Owner Bret Hedrick said It’s a proposal that the dealership says was not part of the original agreement, which placed the tower on its property.
But, the battle over this flag is not over. The telecommunication company can appeal the decision to the entire Clovis City Council for a vote.
