FRESNO (KMJ) — A woman described as ‘grandmotherly’ is now being sought by Fresno Police for stealing $6000 from a fellow shopper in a supermarket.
Officers say security footage recovered from the store shows an elderly looking woman following the victim around.
The crime occurred on May 19th at the Vallarta on the intersection of Chestnut and Butler. Investigators now want our help to track the woman down.
“It does look like it’s premeditated”, says Sergeant Mark Hudson. “You see in the video that she follows her throughout the store looking and seeing that she has a purse in her cart.
She goes up next to her waits for her to turn her back, and then grabs her purse, abandons the cart she’s pushing then walks out the store with her purse”
The suspect’s is described as approximately 50 to 60 years of age, 4 foot 10 inches tall, weighing approximately 170 pounds. She’s seen in the footage wearing glasses, knee length blue jean shorts, a dark colored short sleeve shirt, and brown sandals.
