Calwa Elementary School fourth graders are learning valuable career skills.
They have opened are are running the Smoothie & Cookie Café.
The name of the café says it all – the students will prepare and serve different flavors of smoothies and cookies.
Principal Angela Brunzell says she’s proud of the students and their teacher because of the many skills being taught.
Student are learning how to measure, read and follow instructions, write orders and how to behave in the workplace.
Running a cafe takes staff – so kids will learn how to host, work a kitchen, be a cashier, and how delivery works, and one all important skill – handling money.
The student-run cafe at Cedar & Jensen is open to the public from 11:00 to 1:20.
Friday, June 5th is their last day… so go get a smoothie.
