(KMJ) A violent suspect is hospitalized after being shot just after 3am Wednesday in Tulare.
Deputies say they tried make a traffic stop on a vehicle near Noble Ave and Chinowith in Visalia. They say reckless driver refused to stop and tried to ram the patrol car which initiated a chase.
The pursuit entered into the city limits of Tulare and ended near the intersection of Cartmill Ave east of Hillman Ave. At approximately 3:21 a.m. the Deputy requested assistance and shots were fired. The suspect was transported to a local area hospital for emergency treatment. There is no update on his name or condition.
The deputy involved is a six year veteran with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department and was not hurt. The unidentified Deputy has been placed on Administrative leave pending the investigation.
