The Mayor of Fresno gives a preview of the face of Fresno during the city council meeting on April 30th..
Council Member Steve Brandau presented a plan called “River West” to develop the area West of the 99 Freeway near Shaw.
He asked City Council to pass a resolution for budget appropriations to find money for River West, and they agreed.
During the meeting, Mayor Ashley Swearingen told Steve Brandau and the rest of the attendees there would indeed be money for the development of three plans – including the Southwest and a Southeast plan in her budget to be released on Monday, May 4th.
Many developers attended the City Council meeting with a vested interest in seeing Fresno expand, including Darius Assemi who has been actively revitalizing the downtown area.
“West of 99 is the last frontier in the City of Fresno. If that is planned properly it could be a very attractive part of our community.” – Darius Assemi, Developer, Granville Homes.
