(KMJ) Fresno – One of the most violent of the five men who Fresno Police say need to be off the streets – is now in custody.
Lieutenant Joe Gomez says Michael Mitchell was spotted in a car in Fresno’s Tower District – around 1:00 Tuesday afternoon.
After a foot chase, and help from the k-9 unit, Mitchell was arrested after he was found hiding behind a fence atr College and Alhambra.
The clothes he ditched as he attempted to escape from police (seen pictured below) were found on a porch of a home next to the site where he was arrested.
“He has two confirmed warrants for gang shootings and then we suspect he has done many others – very, very violent – this is a great arrest – no one got hurt – no officers got hurt, so no force was used there, and he gave up right away.” – Lt. Joe Gomez, Fresno Police PIO.
Mitchell was one of five men, all in their 20’s, wanted by Fresno Police for shootings around the city, firing at police officers or each other, even innocent bystanders.
Police Chief Jerry Dyer says even women and children were in their line of fire.
Still left on the Most Wanted list, Adell Vaughn (left), Christopher Richards (middle), and Delonte Love (right).
Crimestoppers is offering a reward for each of them.
