January 13, 2016 -FRESNO (KMJ) A big change goes into effect immediately – as Valley law enforcement leaders work to stop sending criminals possessing illegal guns back on the streets.
Police Chief Jerry Dyer worked with District Attorney Lisa Smittcamp and Fresno Judges to enact the change.
“For example, a concealed firearm by a felon, the bail was $10,000 dollars -the bail has been raised to $100,000 and that’s effective immediately.” – Police Chief Jerry Dyer.
The average gun owner is not affected but gang members and felons are behind the Chief’s bulls-eye.
Chief Dyer says Fresno Judges were on board and approved the change, as a way to stop the revolving door of criminals getting back on the street just to commit more gun crimes.
