McCardle Elementary School is celebrating Red Ribbon Week early with a full slate of themed days.
Principal.Linda McLaughlin (above right) says they wanted to make it a fun message for the kids.
“We’re trying to bring recognition to the fact that kids need to stay off drugs and so we had dress up days all this week, and we had a school-wide rally to just drum up attention for it.” – Linda McLaughlin, Principal.
They hosted an assembly for hundreds of students on Thursday.
On Monday, students wore red and remembered: Always be drug free.
On Tuesday, students wore a bow tie and remembered: Don’t let drugs tie you up.
On Wednesday, students wore crazy socks and remembered: Sock it to drugs.
On Thursday, students wore retro clothes from the ‘50s, ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s and remembered: Don’t let drugs turn your life back in time.
On Friday, students will wear team jerseys and remember: Team up against drugs.
